In a dramatic clash at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, RC Lens defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 to claim their first-ever Trophée des Champions title, snapping PSG's four-year reign over the trophy.
Florian Thauvin struck the decisive goal in the 32nd minute, capitalizing on Matthieu Udol's scuffed shot to coolly finish at the far post. Lens faced immediate adversity just seven minutes later when 18-year-old defender Kyllian Antonio was sent off for a late tackle on Maghnes Akliouche.
Despite playing over 50 minutes with 10 men, Lens held firm. Goalkeeper Robin Risser made vital saves, while PSG had a Fabián Ruiz equalizer ruled out for offside by VAR. Tensions peaked late as PSG's Nuno Mendes also saw red for a high elbow.
Twenty-eight years after losing their only previous final to PSG, Les Sang et Or avenged history on home soil to lift the trophy.
